The purpose of this study is to examine the micro impact and the long-term process of the IMF financial crisis over 20 years ago on individuals and households based on the life History. Research participants were seven who perceived the IMF as having an effect on changing their path of life, such as bankruptcy, unemployment, family breakup, and career changes. Life data were collected through 1-2 in-depth interviews and analyzed using Mandelbaum¡¯s life history analysis framework. As a result, the common points of the participants in the area of ??life were ¡®family, relationship, labor and social security system¡¯, and the change in life was centered on three areas of IMF financial crisis, individual and social change. The financial crisis in individuals and families required their rapid adaptation, but in the process they were exposed to disease, anxiety and marginalization experiences. Even in the contemporary financial crisis, different experiences have occurred depending on generation, class, gender, and labor market status, and these differences have been structured cumulatively over the long term. The individual¡¯s micro experiences were different, but for individuals and families, the financial crisis 20 years ago was the beginning of an unstable life with a mixture of failures, attempts, and adjustments, and lasted for generations.
